Due to the motion tracking feature required by Beat Saber, you cannot play the game on PlayStation VR unless you have the PlayStation Move controller, which is sold separately for $60. On all other VR platforms like the Oculus Rift, you would normally need two controllers to play Beat Saber. But is it the same case on the PSVR?

Can you play Beat Saber with only one Move controller?

You can play Beat Saber on the PSVR with a single Move controller. On the menu screen, you will see a one-handed mode. The tracks are very different but no less difficult. If you're left-handed, you can play mirrored beat maps.

However, to take full advantage of Beat Saber, it is recommended to play with two Move controllers. Multiplayer mode also cannot be played with a single Move controller. If you don't have one right now, you can purchase Sony's PlayStation Move Two Pack. It's cheaper than buying two $60 controllers separately.

Also, Beat Saber isn't the only game that can use Move controllers. Other PSVR games, such as Superhot, Job Simulator, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, should be able to be played with Move controllers for additional immersion. PS4 VR games that require motion tracking, such as Just Dance, also need at least one Move controller to be playable.
