Don't worry, you won't literally have to brainwash an NPC! This is the expression "brainwashing", for which you will only need just talk to the relevant NPCs. Only one of the NPCs will be needed to validate this quest, to choose between Bunker Jonesy, Swamp Tracker or Bill the Human.
