Disgaea 5 endings guide: Every conclusion, from humiliating loss to truth

In true series fashion, there are multiple Disgaea 5 endings you can work on. One is good, some are entertaining, and some you absolutely want to avoid - even getting there means you've done some really bad things. Luckily, the end isn't really the end with these.

You can reload and restart once you've reached one of these endings and try to do better next time, without really starting from scratch. Aside from the first bad ending, each offers a long and emotional demise for Killia, the Rebel Army, or both, so it's worth fulfilling the requirements or just watching on YouTube to get the full experience.

Our Disgaea 5 endings guide covers each of them in the order you first encounter them, as well as how to unlock them.

All Disgaea 5 Endings

Humiliating Loss (Disgaea 5 Bad Ending 1)

Disgaea 5 endings guide: Every conclusion, from humiliating loss to truth

You meet the humiliating loss which ends very early losing to Red Magnus at 1-5. In all honesty, it's not hard to do. It might be worth grinding in earlier levels before tackling the Searing Flame Lord.

If you lose, Red Magnus expresses his disgust at the challenge you failed to complete and rushes off to fight Void Dark on his own. Nobody knows what happened after that.

La mort d'Usalia (Disgaea 5 Bad Ending 2)

This one has some spoilers, so we won't go into too much detail. You fight Usalia, the ruler of Toto Bunny Netherworld, in 4-5. But you shouldn't really fight her if you don't want that conclusion.

If you beat Usalia in 4-5 or let other enemies defeat her, you'll win this one. Kilia quits the rebel army for reasons if this happens, and the army eventually disbands.

Fin regrettable (Disgaea 5 Bad Ending 3)

Regrettable End is another bad conclusion, but it has two requirements. The Rebel Army takes on Majorita 11-5. If you lose this fight and have killed 50 or more allies during your journey, you unlock the Regrettable End. This one sees a war ignite between Void Dark and the Angels after the destruction of the Netherworld.

If that's the one you want to see, killing your allies is pretty easy to do by accident and even easier on purpose. Prinnies exist to explode, doodle.

Successor Failure (Disgaea 5 Bad Ending 4)

Like the one above, the Successor Failure ending only unlocks if you've destroyed your own allies 50 or more times. Lose at 15-5 to trigger an interesting scene between Killia and Bloodis where your calloused recklessness won't go unpunished. The world is ending too.

Suicidal Decision (Disgaea 5 Bad Ending 5)

The final battle has two potential conclusions, and the first is the end of the suicide decision. This one unlocks if you've killed 50 or more allies and choose the wrong choice - "Take time to think" - when prompted. This sets off a chain of dramatic events for everyone involved and sees Killia meet a tragic end.

Disgaea 5 Normal End

How to get the normal or true ending in Disgaea 5 is as easy as beating the game. If you haven't destroyed 50 or more of your allies, you can just finish the final battle in 16-5 as usual.

However, unlike previous Disgaea games, you are not punished for slaughtering allies. If you've exceeded the 50 ally threshold, choose "Run Away" when prompted to see this one anyway.
