EVE Echoes Race Overview Guide

EVE Echoes brings the acclaimed MMORPG to the mobile space as part of a collaboration between core game developer CCP and publisher NetEase. Things aren't all that different between the two titles, and even the races are shared between EVE and EVE Echoes.

There are no wrong technical choices when choosing a race for your character, but it's best to know what you're getting into before you start because there's no way to delete your characters in EVE Echoes. .

The four races of EVE's Echoes

Mooring

The main advantage of the Amarr race is their arsenal of laser weapons that inflict electromagnetic and thermal damage.

The only real downside to Amarr is movement speed. Frigates and destroyers are quite slow, which means this breed is not adept at kiting, but rather at the precise and deliberate firing of enemy fleets.

Deployable drones have a huge selection of features and damage types.

Another great advantage is their easily repairable defense system, which makes his big tankers fit for a fight.

There are three types of parties you can play within the Amarr Empire:

  • The politicians
  • Traders
  • warriors

Gallente

This race is quite similar in playstyle to Amarr with just a few distinct differences.

Just like Amarr, this race does not focus on the mobility and speed of their ships, but rather on defense systems and deployable drones.

The DPS output of his railgun blasters that deal kinetic and thermal damage can be truly devastating. But due to the slow speed, you should also focus on repairing armor, as you will be damaged quite easily yourself.

The drone system is very efficient and makes the Gallente run the most effective for PvE battles.

The three main groups belonging to the Gallente breed are:

  • freedom fighters
  • thinkers
  • Social climbers

Minmatar

Now this is where you can truly experience hit-and-run tactics in all their glory. The Minmatar race are famous for their fast and mobile ships.

His cannon weapon comes equipped with a wide variety of damage types, but the best part is that it doesn't require any type of capacitor to deal a lot of damage.

On the other hand, the defense systems are a bit lacking unless you are willing to invest a high cost to bolster your defenses.

The three main groups of the Minmatar race are:

  • engineers
  • From modest beginnings
  • Everymen

Caldari

This race can be classified somewhere between Minmatar and Amarr. It has a high-speed fleet, which can also play shooting games with slower, better-equipped giants.

They use very effective missile weapons which make their fleet useful in rat tactics, and are also very useful for kiting.

Their defense systems are on the weaker side, but they can be recharged quickly if needed.

Caldari is a race universally acclaimed by many EVE players, so try it out with these three groups:

  • Authoritarian
  • Competitive
  • Introvertis
