It has become more and more important to protect your identifiers well, and sometimes a password is no longer enough! Epic Games has understood this well, and offers you to better protect your Fortnite account thanks to theA2F, two-factor authentication.
How to activate 2FA?
The A2F allows you to better protect your account, in a very simple way, with 2 different means! The first, the password, is obligatory in all cases at registration. For the second, you have the choice between two different means: either you use your mail address, or you use a authenticator app on your phone.
By activating 2FA, Epic Games gives you rewards: in Battle Royale you have the right to l'emote Boogie Down, and in Save the World you gain 50 Arsenal slots, 10 Backpack slots, and 1 Legendary Troll Loot Llama. Do not hesitate to activate it!
A2F with email address
To enable 2FA with your email address, go to the bottom of the Password & Security page, and click "Enable Email Authentication". A pop-up window will open, asking you to enter a code that you have just received by email. Enter the code and you're done!
2FA with an authentication application
This method is a little more tedious, requiring you to follow 3 steps! Go to the Password and Security page, "Enable Authenticator" button.
- Download an authenticator on your phone or tablet (Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy...);
- Scan the QR Code appearing on your screen, using the app you just downloaded. If the scan does not work, you can manually enter a key in the application;
- Finally, the application will give you a code that you will have to enter in the instructions window that you have on your screen.
Once the 3 steps have been followed, 2FA is activated and you have access to the Rewards by reconnecting to the game!
