Previously we offered a beginner's guide to introduce players who have never taken part in a Battle Royale, the basics of such a game mode. If you have already achieved many hours of play on H1Z1 ou PUBG, here is our advanced guide on the title ofepic Games, hoping it helps you win as many games as possible!

How to move efficiently
When you jump from the bus, try to place your parachute with an angle of 20° to 30° in order to descend a little faster (your line of sight should be facing the ground). It is also possible to open your parachute very late while flying above water, since it seems that the game considers automatic opening with your distance from the ground.
You can head in any direction in order to land away from the center of the map. However, Fortnite's Battle Royale mode (at the moment) does not have a vehicle, which means that your movements must be anticipated and well thought out.
Be careful if you sprint! Indeed, when you move while running, your character leaves a trail behind him, visible to all. In addition, the noise of your movements is at its maximum during a sprint.
Conversely, if you move slowly on the ground, the noise will be very reduced, thus favoring sneak attacks.
Raised points will give you an advantage, especially with a sniper rifle (Epic Games credits)
Elevated areas and tall buildings give you an advantage, both for observing and for shooting. Try to make stairs to climb as quickly as possible, while destroying part of your construction afterwards.
Be careful of falls as you will take damage from falling from high places. To do this, use your ability to build and place objects in order to leave a building or to quickly descend from a high point without taking fall damage.
Use bushes to camouflage yourself, they are more useful than constructions which generally are traps that can close in on you if your opponent has explosives or enough ammunition to destroy your walls from a distance.
The loots
There's no better place to loot, every house and corner of the map can harbor an interesting item. Be careful, however, of the chests, which emit a noise when you open them.
In most houses, you can find ammo crates. These are often missed by players because they are not very visible at first glance (dark green crates and generally quite small…), so do not hesitate to pass behind someone in a house.
Note that if you are playing as a team, you can donate ammunition or bandages by placing them on the ground.
Learn to master the pickaxe
For those familiar with PUBG/H1Z1, the starting pickaxe only deals 11 damage per hit. At this rate it will be difficult to quickly eliminate an opponent. Avoid any conflict without a gun, you are no longer on your previous Battle Royale where a frying pan can do the trick.
To only loot ammo, equip your pickaxe. This allows you to immediately recover the ammunition without forcing yourself to loot the weapons (and therefore to switch weapons at each loot).
Aim the blue circle with the pickaxe to destroy the decorative elements more quickly. Some objects can be destroyed in a single blow (most chairs, garage doors, wooden fences, etc.) and yield resources.
Don't forget that you can destroy everything with your pickaxe (but also with your firearms, grenades and rockets), no opponent is really safe!
How to eliminate opponents?
A Battle Royale means both surviving but also knowing how to eliminate your opponents. Remember that unlike other Battle Royale modes, it is more complicated to look behind either. From then on, you can easily surprise an opponent from behind.
Firearms :
They appear in various qualities, from orange (the best but also the rarest) to white. If you've played World of Warcraft, the quality ranking is exactly the same as on Blizzard's MMORPG.
As often, an assault rifle is a weapon of choice to win (credits Epic Games)
Obviously, the better the quality of the weapon, the better its accuracy and damage will be. However, do not neglect your first weapon! A white firearm will be superior to your pickaxe in the majority of situations.
Although it's a style of play that many don't enjoy in Battle Royale games, jumping during melee combat will give you an advantage, especially with a shotgun.
In order to gain precision, stand on the ground without moving. Conversely, if you move, the accuracy of your shots will be reduced.
Do not waste your ammunition with long shots (except with a sniper rifle of course), most of the time you will miss your target but in addition to using bullets which can be very precious, it is likely that someone other can identify your position following these shots.
Only bullets from the sniper rifle have travel time and gravity "bullet drop" effects, at least enough to impact your aim.
Explosives:
Be careful, however, because these objects are quite rare! Never drop a pack of explosives as these can be very useful during the game.
Indeed, they represent a very effective solution against campers! Someone hiding in a building? Use your explosives (grenades, rockets, etc.) to destroy the building. The higher the spot, the more painful the fall will be for your opponent.
You can even use the Rocket Launcher to kill nearby dueling opponents by shooting the ground behind them. Depending on your position, you may also take damage but your enemy will be killed instantly. Stances granting you a shield are particularly effective in this kind of situation.
For Quake fans, you can't (yet) use your rocket launcher to move around the map...
The traps :
Traps are particularly useful in Fortnite, especially to protect your back. Although standing still is not recommended, if you opt for a more passive game, try to collect the different types of traps (on the ground, on the walls) in order to cover yourself.
The storm (the gas)
Try to progress with him and anticipate its movements. This avoids getting trapped inside but above all, there is little chance that an opponent is behind your back if you follow the progress of the area.

If you take damage, you won't be able to loot (you have to wait to receive damage from the area to then loot) but on the other hand you can heal yourself. Note that potions offering a shield do not protect against area damage.
