Forza Horizon 5 Best Drift Cars

The best drift cars in Forza Horizon 5 make driving an art form in its own right, demanding special skills from drivers with their propulsion and reliable handling and braking systems.

It is not surprising that Japanese cars are the best in this type of racing. But there are also many other cars that can compete at the same level. Once you get one of these vehicles, you can start earning skill points in special drift zones.

Best drift cars in Forza Horizon 5

Toyota GR Supra

Forza Horizon 5 offers players who want to focus on drifting a special Formula Drift Pack DLC, which includes an all-new car for the Forza series: the Toyota GR Supra.

This high performance drift vehicle is heavily modified to be the best drift car in the game, adding a turbocharger, dual wastegates, valve trains and a completely reworked 3,0L engine.

Toyota GR Supra has the best handling among all rear-drive cars and special tires for the best results.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

Fiorano is the heaviest drift car in Forza Horizon 5, which is not a bad thing at all. Since it has a front engine and a rear transaxle, its weight distribution is largely balanced and gives the car near perfect balance when drifting.

Drifting in this car is pure fun, and you can just buy it at the Auto Show. So if you want a highly specialized drift car without needing to purchase the Formula Drift Pack DLC or Car Pass, then the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano would be the best bet.

Chevrolet Corvette (#777)

There are about a dozen Chevrolet Corvette variants in Forza Horizon 5, but this 2013 version has been modified specifically for drifting. It loses in speed to the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, but in terms of handling and braking, it holds up significantly better.

In this case, you must try it in the drift zone and compare their statistics. If you like faster cars, then Fiorano is probably a better choice, but some players prefer precision, and that's where Corvette really shines.

Toyota Supra MKIV

This is the second Toyota drift car on our list, which is also part of the Formula Drift Pack DLC, just like GR Supra.

The difference between the two cars is that the Supra MkIV is much faster than the GR Supra. MkIV can reach the top speed of 334 km/h or 208 mph, while GR has a top speed of only 271 km/h or 168 mph.

The GR model has better maneuverability and thus drifting can be performed with greater precision. But with MkIV you can also participate in other types of races with high chances of winning.

Nissan 370Z

What really sets this drift car apart is the twin-turbocharged 6-liter V4,0 engine. Most players prefer cars with V8 engines due to their speed, but V6 engines provide better handling and stability, which is essential for all drifters.

You can unlock this car by completing the "Moar Skillz!" distinction, or just buy it at the Auto Show.

Toyota Corolla hatchback

The Toyota Corolla sits somewhere between the Supra MkIV and GR Supra models. It is the third Toyota drift car to be part of the Formula Drift Pack DLC.

If you can't decide between the other two Toyota vehicles for drifting, choose this one, as it has well-balanced speed and handling thanks to the use of the 4L turbocharged I2,7 engine that is typically used in Ferrari cars.

BMW M2

There are two versions of BMW M2 in Forza Horizon 5: the Coupe variant and the Drift variant. Both can be used for drifting as both are rear-wheel drive vehicles, but the drift version can only be acquired through Car Pass or Formula Drift Pack.

The coupe variant is based on the 6L twin-turbo I3,0 engine, while the Drift variant uses the naturally aspirated 8L V6,2 (LS7), which is twice as powerful. But you can still buy the coupe version for 60 credits and upgrade it, if you can't buy the DLC.

DeBerti Toyota Tacoma TRD

This is the first and only drift van on our list. It's called DeBerti after the name of the author of the car's design, and it's quite a vehicle.

It is equipped with NASCAR V8 engine and it can easily compete with other drift cars with less weight.

The reason you should consider the Tacoma TRD for your drift racing is that you can perform better in offroad drift zones than any other coupe model.

Forza Horizon 5 Best Drift Cars

Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Currently, there are three variants of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in Forza Horizon 5: the 2002 sports car, the 2015 front-engine supercar, and the 2017 high-performance drift car.

The 2002 version is good but it is better to get the 2015 variant, which is much improved, while the 2017 version requires DLC.

But all three cars are quite capable of drifting well, as all are rear-wheel-drive cars.

Ford Mustang RTR

There are also many different versions of Ford Mustang. The GT variant is primarily a sports car designed for racing, while the RTR model does particularly well in drifts.

The stock RTR is a better choice than the RTR Spec 5, which is cheaper to buy, but you also get a downgraded version of the V8 engine with it. The RTR drift variant will set you back 500K, but you get a full preset package to drift straight from the auto show.

Mazda RX-8

The Mazda Drift vehicle, which is included in the Formula Drift Pack, features a special 3L turbocharged 2,0-rotor rotary engine, which is boosted by the Nitrous Express system capable of giving the car a dose of nitrogen. This gives a short but effective boost of an additional 70 horsepower to the 1000 BHP engine.

If you don't want to buy the DLC, you can choose the Mazda RX-8 R3 model, which is much cheaper and has rear-wheel drive suitable for drifting.

Dodge Viper SRT10

The original 10 Dodge Viper SRT2003 from Forza Horizon 4 was not included in the fifth installment of the game. Instead, the developer added the 2008 SRT ACR variant and the pre-tuned 2006 drift version, which can be obtained completing the “Drift Royalty” distinction.

Both cars run very well, but the 2006 variant has the twin-turbocharged V10 engine, which is more powerful than the naturally aspirated version of the ACR model.

Nissan 240SX

Here is another Japanese car that comes in two different variants: the 1993 SE variant and the 1997 pre-tuned drift version.

The SE version costs only 25K, but it is already proclaimed as the “symbol of the power of drift motion”. On the other hand, the 1997 variant can be earned by earning the "Plot Thickens" accolade, which will cost you nothing if done well. Of course, the 1997 drift version is superior to the SE.
