Are you ready to play the next, first-of-its-kind, slasher-slasher melee action RPG? Get ready for Godfall, a new high fantasy game set in a world where realms are divided into four elements – Spirit, Earth, Air and Fire. You are the last Valorian Knight, of the Exalted Order of Knights, and you and you alone must prevent a universe-destroying event! As a knight, you are equipped with armor called valor plates, and the valor plate that is equipped determines your weapon class. Even though Godfall is a loot-slasher, you won't be overwhelmed with loot like it was Diablo 3; it's more loot that is earned by completing missions and quests!
Godfall Multiplayer
Godfall has multiplayer functionality but only online co-op; it doesn't have any PvP modes where you can fight other players in a deathmatch, capture the flag game types or anything like that. It's just three players in online co-op.
Godfall Cooperation
Godfall features a drop-in-drop-out co-op mode, where you and up to two additional friends can play together throughout the campaign. Playing co-op will increase the difficulty of the game by changing enemy behavior based on the number of players in the game. It's very similar to the Borderlands co-op mode, and because Godfall is a loot-slasher, it's a great comparison!
No information has been released if cross-play will occur between the PlayStation 5 and the Windows PC version.
Godfall Couch Coop
Godfall does not offer couch co-op, otherwise known as local co-op; the only way to play with friends is through online co-op. This means that for PlayStation 5 users, you'll need to be a PS Plus subscriber to be able to access this feature, but for PC players, all you need is an internet connection and you're golden.
Co-op play will be in-game at launch when it releases for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC in November.
