Metroid Dread is a Metroidvania filled with content that the player can find and collect. These include abilities and upgrades for Samus' arsenal as well as enemies and bosses to fight. Often defeating bosses is a way to gain buffs or abilities and this is true for Escue.

Escue can be found in Ferenia in the lower right corner of the map through the bomb block tunnels. This giant electric bug can be difficult to fight due to its speed and small room size. Escue has two phases, the first being significantly more difficult than the second.

In Escue's first phase, he has three attacks and an electric shield ability. When his shield is up, don't bother attacking because none of your weapons can damage him. Escue has one melee attack and two projectile attacks. Its melee attack is easy to avoid as it simply tries to dive-bomb you. Jump or dodge out of the way of this attack.

Projectile attacks are where things get tricky. Escue is seen throwing a black orb that shatters if it hits the wall. If it hits the ground instead, it will send out a shockwave. His second projectile is much worse. It will quickly fire dark projectiles that are nearly impossible to dodge all of them. You'll need to use all of Samus' abilities and moves if you want to dodge them all.

Once you've dealt enough damage, Escue will start phase two and you'll have some breathing room. In this phase, the giant bug transforms into an X-parasite. All you have to do while Escue is in this form is dodge and blast him until you win.
