Spiders are Grounded's most formidable enemy, but that doesn't mean there's no way to kill them in the early game. Spiders are important to kill because they have a lot of important resources that you will need to upgrade your gear, weapons, and even progress on items that will help you survive better!
The best way to kill spiders in Grounded is to find ways to block them against things they can't pass through. The grass is not good enough, because they can easily make their way through it. So, look for objects like leaves, branches, or landmarks that they can't pass to pin them. Once you've blocked them, you can shoot arrows at them until they're dead!
A good location has been found by Nooblets, allowing you to kill a spider wolf with relative ease. The spiders actually sleep in the game, so you can sneak around them while they take a nap. We can use this to our advantage to kill a spider that spawns in a particular location. Head to the southeast part of the map, near the berry bush. If you go just south of the Yoked Girth Head landmark, you'll find leaves stacked in a kind of dome.
If you're lucky, you'll find a wolf spider trying to catch a few winks inside. If so, sneak back and shoot an arrow at it through one of the holes. The spider will try to attack you, but it can't pass through the leaf structure and won't be able to move around. Keep throwing arrows until he's dead, and you'll have easily killed a spider.
To easily kill an Orb Weaver Spider, you can do essentially the same trick nearby. This one is a bit more dangerous, as the spider won't always get trapped, you may have to try it a few times. However, it works most of the time. Head to the next location on the map. He
It is directly southeast of the Mysterious Machine and northwest of the Yoke Circumference Head. You will know you are here because the location is directly under a broken piece of wooden fence. There are a lot of Orb Weaver spiders in this area, draw one by shooting at it with an arrow. You can then run the spider into the piece of dry grass that is under the fence and it will get stuck. As long as you stay far enough away from the spider, it will stay locked in place so you can use its face as a target. If you get too close, he might jump on the grass or circle around and try to shoot you. Hang back a bit and you shouldn't have a problem.
As mentioned, this wasn't a perfect method for me, as the spider sometimes didn't get stuck on the grass. So try to get them to follow you and jump over the grass to corner them. You may have to try it a few times, but overall it's pretty reliable.
Wolf spiders can also be found in this area, so you can use the place as a way to kill them as well!
