How to Get Rid of Bug Swarms in ARK: Genesis

How to Get Rid of Bug Swarms in ARK: Genesis

One of the most diverse biomes in ARK: Genesis is the bog. It has a lot of great resources, but it also creates a lot of trouble for players in the form of insect swarms as they are a threat.

This guide will give you tips on how to get rid of bug swarms in ARK: Genesis. We've all heard of just jumping in water where bugs can't get to you, but that doesn't make them go away.

Below are three proven methods that actually work to get rid of those swarms of bugs that are making you miserable.

Flamethrower

The most effective way to get rid of insect swarms quickly is to use the flamethrower. It is more effective than a torch or a gun.

Just point the weapon at the swarm and roast them. As a result, the whole swarm will disappear in an instant.

The recipe for making a flamethrower is as follows:

  • 75x polymer
  • 50x cement paste
  • 35x Metal Ingot
  • 10x Sulfur
  • 15x Electronics

ascend

If you don't have materials to craft the flamethrower, tame any beast and make it your mount. In case the insect swarm starts attacking you, use the melee attack to hit the insects.

This will force your mount to kill each bug separately, which takes a while, but at least the job will be done.

Insect repellent

The last effective option is to consume the Bug Repellent. It will not kill insects, but will keep them away from you.

Use the following recipe to create a bug fallback:

  • 6x skin, hair or wool
  • 2x amazing
  • 4x Lemongrass
  • 4x Rockarrot
