How to Level Up Fast in Bloodborne

An excellent entry in the Souls-borne game series, Bloodborne challenges the player in a big way, much like FromSoftware's other titles. Sometimes challenges get difficult very quickly and leveling up is desperately in order. With that in mind, here's how to level up quickly in Bloodborne.

In order to get the upgrades needed to take on tougher enemies, you will need Blood Echoes. If you've ever played Dark Souls, you'll be familiar with this concept, but in the guise of Souls. Blood Echoes are dropped by enemies and must be farmed in order for you to pay for your upgrades as it is essentially a currency.

As with other games in this series, grinding is a major factor; and it is the best way to level up faster. There are key levels that generate more Blood Echoes, meaning you'll get more bang for your buck by backtracking and running through certain parts of the game multiple times.

There are a few places that are particularly good for farming, and while it may take some time, your build will fare much better after increasing some of your attributes. Note: Be very careful early on which attributes you want to focus on, as the cost will increase with each upgrade until you need thousands of Blood Echoes.

Central Yharnam

Head from Hunter's Dream (where you level up) to the center of Yharnam, fight everything you encounter along the way, then search for the area where you fight two werewolves. Down the path of these enemies, you should see a house. Attract the attention of werewolves and lead them home. You can take refuge here, but enemies cannot enter.

Stand near the door and walk towards them, hitting them and then backing up so they can't attack you. Repeat this tactic until they're down, then collect the Blood Echoes. Once you've done that, you can repeat the process until you're satisfied.

1st floor conference building

If you passed Advent Square and were killed by the Little Tonsil while holding the Tonsil Stone, you will be able to reach the first floor of the conference building. There are two lamps here, which means there are two spawn points.

Close the Slime Scholars on this floor and respawn at one of the lamps to start the process over. Slime Scholars have a fairly long range, so knockback from the previous stage is less effective. Instead, make sure to dodge from side to side to minimize the risk of damage.

Mergo Loft: Middle

This area can be accessed after defeating Micolash, Host of the Nightmare. For this area, you'll be farming Eyeball Hogs (yum) and Yharnam Shadows. The shadows here aren't boss versions, but are still pretty tough to fight, so make sure you've got the lamps lined up just in case they get you multiple times.

Other than that, the area drops a lot of Blood Echoes, so it's a good choice to grind it multiple times, as you should be able to collect quite a few to level up.

Multiplayer

Not everyone will have this ability, however, if you have an OP (superpowered) friend who will go through boss battles with you again, you can also farm bosses for large amounts of Blood Echoes. Of course, you'll want to help keep your techniques sharp, but it's a great way to spend a little less time farming, although it can be a bit more difficult.

There are more places in the game where you'll find prominent Echo Drops, but these are three of the most plentiful to get you started if you're having trouble leveling up!
