The Dark Pictures Anthology is known for two things, the horror edge of the sieges and the game-altering decisions. Both of these themes recur in House of Ashes. Whether you're trying to play 100% or just don't want to see the characters die, here's how to save Rachel in House of Ashes.
Just about every decision you make in this game will have a huge impact on who lives and dies. Rachel has many decisions that can affect her fate, and keeping her alive won't be as easy as some of the other characters. If you want to make sure Rachel survives to the end, you'll have to make all the right choices along the way.
Spoiler alert: House of Ashes spoilers below!
The temple
In The Temple, playing the role of Eric, you will have a choice. That choice is to cut the rope and let Rachel fall or not to cut the rope, which will break either way. This choice may seem like an opportunity to keep Rachel alive, but it really won't affect her fate either way. Either way, she'll survive, so don't hesitate to cut that rope!
Bloodbath
In Bloodbath, Rachel will have to make the decision to help or abandon Clarice after helping her out of the temple. It won't have a direct effect on Rachel's life. However, helping Clarice gives her a chance to survive at another character's expense. It is therefore preferable to abandon Clarice in order to play it safe.

the assault
During The Assault, Salim will participate in several quick events while fighting monsters. You will have the choice of monsters to attack. Make sure Salim shoots the monster attacking Rachel. This will ensure that Rachel doesn't die here, even if she gets infected.
Strange Aeons
During this scene, Rachel will go and try to stab the white phosphorus. Do NOT perform this action and wait for the timer to expire instead.
Shortly after, dialogue options will appear in which the characters discuss whether or not Jason should kill Rachel. You will have to choose the Desperate option twice to spare Rachel. Later, Eric will use UV light to burn the infection away from Rachel.
Final stand
This section is dedicated to the success of quick events. Just messing up one of them could result in the death of a valuable character. During this scene, each character still alive will need to perform a few quick events. So, be sure to pay close attention to Rachel, and when her turn comes, be sure to complete each event.
As long as you've made all the right decisions so far, Rachel will survive the game. She will escape the temple relatively unscathed, along with all of the other characters who have come this far with her. This is how you can save Rachel in House of Ashes.
