In Phasmophobia's latest updated exhibit, a new item has been added to the game to aid you in your paranormal hunting goals. The DOTS project will help you obtain evidence for new and old types of ghosts.
The DOTS projector is mainly used to detect paranormal movements passing through it. This new piece of gear emits a myriad of laser lights around its location, and anything that moves inside the lasers is highlighted. This, combined with a video camera, will be perfect for the person in the truck to keep an eye on or if the ghost needs to be alone in the room with someone.

Like any other equipment, it must be activated before placing, otherwise nothing will happen. Press F before the highlighted placement silhouette appears, then place it. The DOTS projector isn't something you would use right away - it would be used to bolster your other ghost-like evidence and place it near the rooms you suspect are the haunted location.
Only a few types of ghosts are detectable with the DOTS projector:
- Banshee
- Goryo
- They
- Ghost
- Spectre
- yokai
