Megalodon locations in Sea of Thieves

Megalodon was permanently added to Sea of Thieves in the Shrouded Spoils update. Since then, it poses a great danger to hackers browsing the map. In this short guide, we'll explain the types of Megalodons you can find and where you can find them.

Megalodon locations in Sea of Thieves

We're going to make finding the Megalodon in-game a simple concept: you can't find it; He finds you. Encountering a Megalodon is a random event that can occur anywhere in the open sea. None of the five different Megalodon variants are exclusive to a specific area. Instead, the likelihood of encountering one depends on the rarity of each species.

To clarify most simply: none of the Megalodons have a specific location or area. You find them in open water, a considerable distance from the islands. If you approach an island while being chased by a Megalodon, the Megalodon will disappear. If you stay on the island long enough, the megalodon will not respawn when you leave.
