With patch 11.10, Epic Games has implemented a new feature in Fortnite: changing your friends' nicknames. Concretely, what does it consist of? If one of your friends is called xXx_DarkFénix_xXx, you can simply rename him to Patrick. This feature will be very useful if you want to give each other nicknames or if you simply don't like a friend's nickname or even... if you forget who this famous xXx_DarkFénix_xXx is.
How to give a nickname to a friend in Fortnite?
The functionality is very simple to set up:
- Click on your friends list at the top left of the home screen (once you have logged into a game mode);
- Choose the friend you want to rename;
- Left-click to open a menu;
- Then click on “add a nickname”
- Write a nickname of up to 16 characters.
The "add nickname" button is just below the "whisper" button
You now know how to change the name of your friends in a game! Nothing tells us that the feature is not temporary and that Epic Games will not be removing it in the next few weeks or months. But anyway, be careful with the names you use because there are obviously rules on nicknames, even if it is a nickname that only you can see. So don't have fun using offensive or racist nicknames.
