Season 7 of Fortnite Battle Royale is coming, and with it patch 7.0! Unfortunately, with all the new features to add, the latter is very heavy, and the download time may be long, especially for PS4 players who will have to download more than 5GB of data... Don't worry, we have a solution to download faster on console!
PS4
- Pause and resume download. Although it may seem weird at first glance, it will download faster.
- Change your DNS settings. Changing DNS settings to public google DNS helps many people get a better connection with the network. When the console asks you to configure your DNS, choose "manual" and enter the following data: Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8, Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4.
- Standby. Putting the console into sleep mode will allow it to continue downloading without being overloaded with data. To do this, go to the power saving mode settings, check the box that allows automatic downloads, put the console to sleep and come back later.
XBox One
- Close all apps and games. When games and applications are launched, even in the background, they have priority over the data used compared to a download.
- Avoid rush hour. With many other people downloading at the same time, the best way to increase your download speed is to simply do it at a time when few people will be online.
- Change your DNS settings. Similar to the PS4, changing your DNS settings will increase your download speed. To do this, go to "Settings", "Networks" tab, "Network Settings", "Advanced Settings", "DNS Settings" and "Manual". Once done, enter the following data: Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8, Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4 .

Normally, all of this should increase your download speed and allow you to play Fortnite season 7 faster. If that doesn't work for you, unfortunately all that's left to do is wait in the conventional way.
