Call of Duty Modern Warfare is full of new features including the arrival of a mode that strongly resembles what can be found in Battlefield.
This new mode called Ground War is now available via the patch 1.04 and sees 64 players compete on three maps (Karst River Quarry, Tavorsk district, Aniyah Palace) relatively imposing both vertically and horizontally with vehicles. The goal of this mode is to capture specific areas in order to earn as many points as possible.
In this guide, we are going to give you various tips and tricks to get you started in this new mode.
Watch out for snipers
In this game mode, the snipers will have many ideal spots in order to decimate your team. So pay attention to your surroundings and often observe the buildings with perches et the roofs to avoid falling under enemy fire.
Show ingenuity
The principle of this mode is to capture areas and defending them will be quite complicated but it will be much easier to attack them since the maps are very large and the many alleys and buildings will allow players to show ingenuity both in defense and attack.
Master your hunting ground
As said before, the map is relatively large but many players will prefer to stick to the main avenues of the map. We therefore advise you to quickly master your environment by looking for the ideal places according to you in order to launch ambushes on your opponents.
Take advantage of the vehicles
It will be possible to find many vehicles to move around the map but also to eliminate as many opponents as possible. These will appear periodically but it will also be possible to appeal them thanks to your series of eliminations.
These vehicles will be particularly useful for capturing areas such as, for example, tanks who will be able to provide ground support or helicopters who will be able to drop players in the area.
We therefore advise you to always have on you explosives to destroy them quickly to prevent them from causing a massacre within your team.

This seems like typical advice, but in Ground War, we specifically advise you to stick with your teammates. Try some ambush on solo might be a good idea but it's also the best way to die stupidly overwhelmed by numbers.
However, you can follow your teammates and use them as decoys by going into a building to flank your opponents and eliminate them. Remember though that your opponents might have the same idea as you.
Choose your gear wisely
Before starting the game, we advise you to prepare different equipment that can meet different situations.
If you want to as a sniper, it will be especially useful to have claymores on you so that you can place them behind you to protect you from enemies who may arrive behind your back or on the flanks.
Additionally, the bonuses of elimination series will be very useful to support your team, so choose these wisely.
Eliminations aren't everything
This mode will be the ideal ground for all players who love to play as support for their teammates. Getting the most kills will not win you the game and so having support gear will allow your team to win the game.
Recon Drones, Ammo Caches, and Cover Shield will be particularly useful as equipment and the support vehicles that can be called through killstreaks will provide great cover fire for your allies.
