Crown Tundra: How to get Naganadel

Crown Tundra: How to get Naganadel

There are a multitude of ways to evolve Pokémon in the Pokémon franchise. The majority of them evolve simply by leveling them up, because at certain levels evolution will happen. Others require methods such as holding an item when trading or having a high level of friendship with the Pokemon. It can then become complex with evolutions based on the nature of the Pokémon, depending on the weather, and even needing to learn a specific move before the evolution can even occur.

How to evolve Poipole

To get Naganadel in the Crown Tundra, you need to evolve the Ultra Beast Poipole by having it learn a specific move called Dragon Pulse, and leveling it up once after learning the required move. In addition to transferring one, you already have from Pokémon Home to Pokémon Sword and Shield; it's the only way to acquire one.

There are several ways to obtain Dragon Pulse. Normally, you can learn moves just by leveling up the Pokemon, but that doesn't work with Poipole, because even leveling it to level 100 won't learn Dragon Pulse. In order for Poipole to learn Dragon Pulse, you need to visit a Pokemon Center, relearn it from Move Boost, then level it up once via Pokemon Battles or by feeding it Exp. Candy.

The other way is to get the TM Dragon Pulse, located on a small island in the Island Sea of the Isle of Armor DLC. However, if you completed this expansion before upgrading to the Crown Tundra, chances are you've already picked it up. The final method is to complete Max Raid Battles against powerful Dragon Pokemon, and hope to get it as a reward for winning.

Whichever method you choose, remember to teach Poipole Dragon Pulse before upgrading him to evolve into Naganadel. If you don't have a Poipole yourself, you can get one by completing Legendary Clue quests that require you to catch various other rare Pokémon.
