If you want to repair your current armor or weapons, you will need to get repair parts and have a large wallet full of gold. That said, you can get repair parts by dismantling or scavenging various in-game weapons and armor that you come across.
We recommend that you salvage anything you don't plan to sell or use, such as old hardware. If you want to get your old items back, just move your cursor over the item and then left-click on it after pressing the s key. This will expand the item you're currently hovering over and will transform into repair parts which can then be used to repair your current items.

Once you've obtained spare parts, hover over an item of gear you want to repair again and press R and the left mouse button. This will then fill your item's durability bar, thus repairing it. In addition to repair parts, you can also use repair kits which you can start crafting at level one of the game.
However, if you don't have enough money, we recommend selling the items you get from quests and the farming loot for sale as well. This should be enough to get you the amount of gold you need to repair items.
