The Summoning Circle is the only cursed possession that requires specific gear. Unlike other Cursed Possessions, the Summoning Circle will always result in a Cursed Hunt when used.
How it works
The summoning circle itself is easy to find as it always spawns on the ground with five surrounding candles. Larger rooms will be more likely to be there, but it is also possible for it to spawn in smaller rooms. In order to activate the summoning circle, players must light each of the five candles.

There is no other way to light the candles without the lighter, so it is worth bringing it in case the circle appears. When lit, the summoning circle will summon the ghost inside, fully visible. This makes it easier to take pictures, however, after five seconds the ghost will be free and immediately begin a cursed hunt.
Using the Summoning Circle will count as a Ghost Event and can only be used once. The danger of causing a cursed hunt can be overcome with the rewards of additional objectives such as photographing the ghost or experiencing a ghost event. It is possible to light four candles and wait before lighting the fifth to better prepare, but Crucifixes will not work during a Cursed Hunt.
