Cross-platform support for a game allows players to team up and compete regardless of the device they are playing on. For example, if you are on an Xbox console, you can play with your friend on PC. This also results in faster matchmaking since the player base is no longer disintegrated.
However, this can be a problem for some players who feel that one platform or entry has an unfair advantage over another. While keyboard and mouse players complain about aim assist on controllers, console users can't resist encounters with cheats on PC.

Therefore, Halo Infinite Multiplayer lets you decide whether or not to enable crossplay in its ranked playlist. Playing ranked matches and progressing takes serious effort and the developers don't want players to feel deprived in any way.
When playing Ranked Arena, you can choose your input from two options: Keyboard/Mouse and Gamepad. Since this option is limited to Solos and Duos only, players now require it to be implemented across all settings and game modes.
