Wondering how to change the difficulty in Halo Infinite? In some other games it's easy to do, but in Master Chief's latest effort, doing it in the middle of the campaign is actually unclear. It can be done, however!
This Halo Infinite guide will tell you how to change the difficulty mid-campaign. If you found out you picked the wrong difficulty at the start of your campaign, you don't have to start over. However, this will affect some achievements, which we have described below.
How to Change Difficulty in Halo Infinite
Many players don't know that they can actually change the difficulty mid-game. But you can. Here's what to do:
- Easy. Recommended for new players.
- Normal. Recommended for players familiar with the Halo series.
- Heroic. Recommended for experienced Halo players.
- Legendary. Recommended for lovers of extreme gameplay.
If you did everything correctly, your save file will be overwritten with a new difficulty level. You can do this as many times as you want, trying various difficulties until you find the right one. Note, however, that this must be done in the main menu and cannot be done during gameplay.
In addition, it is important to know that if you decide to change the difficulty level during the game, you will not be able to obtain the following achievements:
- Bare Your Fangs: Players must complete the full campaign on normal difficulty.
- Fight Hard, Die Well: Players must complete the full campaign on Heroic.
- Director: Players must complete the full campaign on Legendary with active skulls.
