Mounts are the faithful companions that transport us through the world of Albion Online. Each player starts with a mule but at some point that mount will no longer be useful. For your next mount, you'll probably want to invest in a Horse or Ox. When you're ready for an upgrade, you can buy a new mount from the market, craft one from a saddler, or craft one yourself.
Buy a mount from the market
All cities in Albion Online have a Marketplace, but each store is local to each city, so items and prices may vary from Marketplace to Marketplace. Everything is bought and sold by players, and while they set the prices, mounts generally run at a constant price.
When browsing a market, filter your search by mount (second tab) and level 3 (third tab), or search directly for the mount. Of course, you'll have to match the mount's asking price, so make sure you have plenty of cash.
Craft a Mount with the Saddler
Alternatively, you can craft your own mount, but you must have the Harvester tier unlocked in the Agriculture row of the Destiny Board. It's much cheaper than buying a mount directly from the market. Instead, you can buy materials and take them to a saddler to make your own. Oxen require 30x level 3 planks and horses require 20x leather.
Make your own mount
To create your own mount, you need to have a level 3 island, which grants you two farming plots, and a baby mount. These offspring mounts are the cheapest when purchased from the market. You will need an agricultural plot to grow food for your baby mount. The second farm patch is where you will place your baby mount, nurture it, and nurture it.
Mounting requirements
Players must be at least Journeyman Adventurer level to use horse and ox. Follow the vertical line on your destiny chart to track this progress. As you progress through this level tree, more mounts will become available.
