Age of Empires IV has several interesting elements in its core gameplay. One of these elements is the advancement of civilization. To advance a single civilization in Age of Empires IV, you must build a required landmark associated with that age. For example, you can go from the Dark Ages to the Feudal Age by simply building a suitable landmark by paying 400 wood and 200 gold. But it can get tricky the further you go.
Before we get into the process of advancing your civilization, let's take a look at the different age types and their benchmark cost.
Civilization | monument cost | Duration Duration |

feudal age | 400 food, 200 gold | 3m 10s |
castle age | 1200 food & 600 gold | 3m 40s |
