Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is the latest AR mobile game from Niantic, the creators of Pokémon Go. It's similar to its predecessor, but instead of Pokémon, Wizard's Unite lets players bring in the magical universe of the Harry Books. Potter by JK Rowling in the real world.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite's main gameplay loop explores the world around you, releasing 'Foundables' - like catching Pokemon - and interacting with various nodes scattered across the map. Unless you're in a rural area, when you first launch the game you'll see towering spiers and gothic towers looming in the distance. There are three Harry Potter: Wizards Unite locations you can visit while playing the game, and each will help you collect more Foundables.



These locations for Harry Potter: Wizards are Inns, Greenhouses, and Fortresses. Understanding the purpose of these locations and how you interact with them isn't as clear as it could be, but we're here to help! What does each location do?

Let's take a look at all the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite locations and see exactly what each of them does:

Hostel locations

An inn corresponds to an actual location: often a pub, cafe, or something similar, and will appear on the map as a house-like structure. When you find one, you can grab it by simply tapping the screen. Once inside, you'll be prompted to draw a glyph – swipe your finger – to activate the inn. Completing this task will reward you with a meal which, in turn, will reward you with spell energy. The amount of energy you get depends on the meal you eat; we only saw two or three, but up to ten. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Locations Guide

If the name doesn't give it away, in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite you will need spell energy to cast spells. You cast a spell every time you try to catch a Foundable, and like in Pokémon Go, you sometimes have to try multiple times before it either works or disappears. You also cast spells when interacting with strongholds, but we'll get to that a bit later in the guide. Each time you cast a spell, you will lose spell energy, so it is important that you keep in mind how much you have left. If you're just starting out, you can only hold 75 spell energy. Although that's not a lot, it's enough to get you at least a day's worth of activity without needing to visit a hostel, which will help you level up!

TYPES INN

There are five different types of inn, signified by their color. Each color represents the real-world location it is likely to be in. For example, a green inn will be found in rural areas and will offer better meals, as they are harder to find. On the other hand, pink inns can be found in both rural and urban areas and offer meals that give less spell energy.

Below is a list of all the different colors, slots, and max spell energy:

  • Green Inn – Rural areas: up to ten spell energy
  • Purple Inn – City areas: up to seven spell energy
  • Blue Inn – Rural and Urban areas: up to six spell energy
  • Brown Inn – Rural and Urban areas: up to six spell energy
  • Pink Inn – Rural and Urban areas: up to three spell energy

MEAL HOSTEL

As stated above, visiting different Inn locations will reward visitors with meals that replenish their spell energy. After all, you can't cast a good spell on an empty stomach! There are a total of ten meals you can eat in Inns in Wizards Unite, each giving players up to ten spell energy.

  • Tomato soup – an energy spell
  • Afternoon tea – two energy spells
  • Beans of every flavor of Bertie Bott – two energy spells

If you've played Pokémon Go, think of Inns as PokéStops. You won't need to visit these inns multiple times a day if you're just a casual player. So, it's best to keep it in your mind and remember to stop when passing between other locations in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.

DARK DETECTORS

Inns have a secondary screen that allows you to place “Dark Detectors,” which are in-game items that you can earn or purchase. They act like Pokémon Go “decoys”: if you place one in an Inn, you can find rarer “traces” for the next 30 minutes.


The main purpose of Dark Detectors is to help players collect Foundables faster. During the 30 minute period they are active, you will gain increased XP and have a chance to locate found items that do not appear normally. Dark Detectors can also be stacked up to three per Inn.

greenhouse locations

Greenhouses are small glass buildings that contain pots capable of growing various plants, which can eventually be crafted into potions. When you come across a greenhouse, you can go inside and choose from three random plant pots to grow your plant. After collecting the ingredients for your plant, you will need to leave the greenhouse for 5 minutes before returning.

GROWING PLANTS

The main purpose of a greenhouse is to grow plants that will allow players to use ingredients to brew potions. Occasionally you'll come across seeds while playing Wizards Unite, which you can add to your collection, using them to grow a specific plant in a greenhouse. You can view the different seeds you've collected by going to the vault and clicking the seed icon on the right side of the screen.

There are a total of ten plants you can grow in Wizards Unite Greenhouses, each of which can be used in different potions. Anyone who contributes to the growth of a plant can benefit from its harvest. However, once a plant has finished growing, players will only have 30 minutes to harvest its ingredients.

After turning your seeds into plants, you can use the ingredients to create potions that will benefit you in the game. Potions are not unlockable until level four, so if you haven't unlocked them yet, you won't nothing to do with the greenhouse ingredients you collect.

However, once you reach level four, if you click on the suitcase icon on the main screen, you will be taken to a menu where you can choose from five icons. The Potions icon is located at the bottom left of the screen, just click on it to see all the Potions you have and their required ingredients. Also, if you go to the vault and click on the ingredient icon, you can see a full list of all the ingredients you've collected.

POTS VS. RENTAL JARS

Each greenhouse will have three pots available for free. If all three pots are currently used, then you will need to wait or use a rental pot. These are jars that can be purchased with in-game currency and will come with all the ingredients you need, while reducing growing time.

Below is a list of the different pot rental costs and time availability:

  • Rental Pot A – 35 coins – 180 minutes
  • Rental Pot B – 70 coins – 480 minutes
  • Rental Pot C – 140 coins – 1440 minutes

Both rental pots and free pots work great for growing a plant. Using a rental pot will not grant you any benefits that a regular pot would not. It will simply save you time and provide you with the necessary seeds to grow the desired plant.

Fortress locations

The final of these three Harry Potter: Wizards Unite locations is known as the Fortress. These are truly castle-like structures that will allow players to complete a series of challenges in exchange for exclusive rewards. They are not difficult to recognize, as they are the tallest buildings on the map.

Once you enter a stronghold, you and up to four others can take on a series of challenges with varying degrees of difficulty. Upon entering the Fortress, you and your partners will have to fight a series of opponents, who guard some of the rarest and most powerful Foundables in the world.

RUNESTONES

Before starting a fight, you will have to hand over a Runestone, which will determine the strength of your enemy. So if you drop a higher level Runestone, you will face a higher level enemy. If you hand over a lower level Runestone, you will face an easier enemy.

Runestones can be collected as you collect Foundables and level up the various sections of your registry. Runestones are located in treasure chests, which are earned by turning over base items. Each runestone you receive will correspond to an area of ​​expertise or, as the game says, a family.

However, just because you hand in a low-level Runestone doesn't mean you won't encounter a difficult enemy here or there. If you're playing solo, it's safe to assume that whatever level of Runestone you personally place will reflect the enemy types you're fighting. However, if you're playing with others, the water gets a little murkier because the more players you add, the more Runestones there are. Ergo, the harder a fortress can be.

As you keep moving through the fortress, the enemies will get stronger and stronger. The different floors are called “chambers” in-game, and as you'd expect, the higher the chamber, the tougher the enemy. If you plan to fight through lots of chambers, you'll want to bring a few players with you as a backup.

If you decide a fortress is too difficult after installing a runestone, you can exit the lobby before the 30 second timer expires and your runestone will be returned to you. However, once that 30 second timer has passed, your Runestone is gone for good.

SOIL STATISTICS

One important thing to note is that while you can be in a stronghold with up to four other players, all battles will be solo. While teammates can aid the combatant by using spells when not in combat, it is ultimately up to each player to defeat their individual opponent. Different professions are stronger and weaker against different enemy types, so knowing who's fighting is important to consider.

There are a total of 20 Fortress Chambers in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, each with their own player levels and base ratings. Additionally, each chamber has a timer assigned to players, which means they must pass the chamber before time runs out. If you run out of time, you lose the Fortress and with it your chance to find rare rare items.

  • Chamber 10 – Duration: 480 seconds – Player level: five – Base rating: 1530

As you can see, towards the beginning, a fortress will not be too difficult. But as you go, you'll want help from other players.

STRATEGIC SPELLS

As you fight, you'll need to keep your health bar in mind, as running out of health will result in a loss. To help you, players will be able to cast different types of spells depending on their profession, which can weaken an enemy or heal a player. If you haven't unlocked any strategic spells yet, you'll need to keep increasing your expertise in your profession.

There are three different types of professions in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which determine the type of strategic spells you can cast. Below is a list of the different occupation classes and a brief description of each.

  • Auror – Aurors deal bonus damage to Dark Forces and take bonus damage from Beasts.
  • Magizoologist – Magizoologists deal bonus damage against Beasts and take bonus damage from Curiosities.
  • Professor – Professors deal bonus damage against Curiosities and take bonus damage from Dark Forces.

If you plan on going deep into a stronghold, you'll probably want to have a nice variety of professions on your team. While all are important, the Magizoologist profession will provide a significant advantage during Fortress battles. They are able to heal your teammates during combat as long as they are "sitting" out of combat.

enemies

There are four main types of enemies that spawn in a stronghold – Dark Forces, Curiosities, Beasts, and Neutral. Each of these enemy types is weak to certain professions and deals increased damage to other professions.

Here is a list of the four main enemy types along with their strengths and weaknesses:

  • Dark Forces - Deal increased damage to Professors: Take increased damage from Aurors
  • Curiosities – Deal increased damage to Magizoologists: Take increased damage from Professors
  • Beasts - Deal increased damage to Aurors: Take increased damage from Magizoologists
  • Neutral – Inflicts and inflicts neutral damage to all professions

You'll want to pay attention to the type of enemy you're up against, so you know who in your party is the best match for each fight. For example, a professor should not fight a Dark Force enemy, as he is able to deal increased damage to players of that profession. Along the same lines, an Auror should fight a Beast when possible, as it can deal increased damage to that type of enemy.

In addition to the four main enemy types, there can be six different "tiers". For example, early chambers will likely have common enemies while later ones will likely have fierce enemies.
